Radiation Radiation
The Center uses advanced high-energy radiation technology for your treatment.

The types of radiation therapy available at the Center include radiation as the sole form of therapy, preoperative radiation to reduce the tumor size prior to surgery, and postoperative radiation to destroy cells possibly left behind following surgery. In some cases, radiation, along with an anti-tumor drug (given by your medical oncologist), may be used to destroy the cancer.

The radiation treatment may be administered by external beam or brachytherapy. External beam treatments are done on our facility's dual energy Varian 2100C Linear Accelerator with an IMPAC Record and Verify Treatment System. Brachytherapy treatments are administered through permanent implants (i.e., Transperineal Seed Implants). The Center is also equipped with a 3-D Treatment Planning System.
